Matt Stoller at Open Left has a great summary of the battle we are engaged in this week over Dan and other Reps' ability to use YouTube, social networking sites, and Twitter to reach out to constituents.
If you've been following the issue closely, you know that Congressman Burton spoke out strongly against new rules advocated by the House Committee on Administration that would prohibit members from using these tools.
Democrats have long led in the arena of new media, unfortunately. Perhaps because we Republicans have been behind in our use of these tools, Dan has urged the campaign and (to our knowledge) the official office to make use of these kinds of things. We urge you to visit the Sunlight Foundation's new website, Let Our Congress Tweet, where they are asking individuals who use Twitter to urge Congress to allow Congressmen to Tweet. Dan has signed their petition. We hope you will too.
Also, if you happen to be on Twitter, make sure to follow Dan's tweets at www.twitter.com/danburton.
